The Windsor Royals edged the Ducks 4-3 in overtime last night at St. Margaret’s Centre.

The Royals jumped to an early 2-0 first period lead on two goals by Erik Jackaman ( Tyler McGowan and Cameron Gordon and then from just McGowan).
Shots on goal after one favoured the Ducks 13-11.

In the second the Royals scored the only goal of the period to go up 3-0 when Jeremy Bent pulled the trigger on a play with TJ Boyd and Andrew Kirkendall.

Shots again favoured the Ducks at 14-9 for a 2-period total of 27-20.
In the third the Ducks roared back with unanswered goals to tie the game at three and send it into overtime. First Andrew Bellefontaine (Davey Shea), then Mark Blanchard (Jake Bullen and Tyler MacDonald) and finally with just one minute to play Brandon Duffy (Blanchard and Doug Hore).

With just a minute and a half remaining in the first overtime period McGowan finished (from Kirkendall and Sam Webb) to give Windsor the win.

The Ducks lead the Fred Fox semi-final 2-1. Game four goes Thursday night in Windsor at 8:00 pm, and game 5 at St. Margaret’s Centre at 7 PM.
