Dougie Hore Sets League Record
Last Saturday night a NSJHL record was set as Dougie Hore scored five goals. But it was not the fact he scored five times that set the record. Rather it was the fact that three of those goals were short handed. The Ducks (26-6-1) were all over the second place Elks (16-10-2), posting an 8-2 victory in an exciting contest. Other than Dougie, a long list of Ducks got points, including Scott Bowness with 2 goals and 2 assists, and Captain Mark Blanchard with the other goal.
It was time to travel on Sunday, and the Ducks again took out the Pictou County Scotians by a score of 6-4 in Pictou. Andrew Bellafontaine, Doug Hore and Brandon Duffy led the charge with three points each.
The Ducks last regular season game is in Windsor next Sunday.
It looks like the Ducks will take on the Royals in the first playoff series, although if the Royals win their remaining three games (including beating Sackville this Friday) it may be the Blazers that the Ducks face in round one. That would be quite the series.
No game this Saturday (February 20th), but it will be party time as you are invited to join the Ducks for a party with DJ Donnie and the Race game in the multi-purpose room at 7 PM.
