DUCKS SIGN NEW PLAYERS

2010-01-12

Davey Shea

The Bay Ducks have added three new players to the roster in the past week as they begin the final drive towards the playoffs and the Don Johnson Cup.

Joining the team are Todd Martin (from the Windsor Royals), and Chad Davis and Davey Shea (both from the Junior “A” Bridgewater Lumberjacks).

Martin and Davis are both stand out defencemen, and will shore up the Ducks defence.  Shea is a big forward (6” and 240 lbs) capable of penetrating the zone and creating opportunities.

The Ducks play again at home this weekend, following a disappointing loss to the Blazers (3-2) last week.  The Ducks outshot the Blazers 52-35, but Game MVP Sackville goalie and former TASA player Jarrad Johnson was outstanding in getting the win.

This week the Ducks (17-5-1) have a home and away with the East Hants Penguins (7-12-1-3), with games at East Hants on Friday (7.30 PM) and St Margaret’s Centre on Saturday (7 PM).
